Summary Guest lecturer Bob Chessia, Chair of the Scituate Historical Society will share his hands-on knowledge of the South Shore’s Irish mossing industry and stories of the Irish of Scituate, joining Hingham Historical Society board member Eileen McIntyre who will provide insights on the hard-working 19th century Irish immigrants of Hingham and more. Both Bob and Eileen will provide a revealing picture of the waves of Irish immigration to the Boston area and the origins of our “Irish Riviera” of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
